At the intersection of mobility and energy, transportation is rapidly restructuring around electric vehicles. The right to breathe clean air - coupled with climate change and increasing legislative pressure is highlighting the need for businesses large and small to decarbonise their fleets. My role is about providing independent, evidence-based and engineering-led advice to fleets looking to transition to electric. I collaborate with a wide range of industry stakeholders and businesses while working directly with fleet operators to help them make better decisions to put the right vehicles on the road and ensure they have the energy, infrastructure and optimisation in place so that the fleet not only remains operational but also fully capitalises from the shift to sustainable transportation. Fleets are going to need a coordinated and strategic approach: over the next decade and beyond, businesses will progress from adding basic charging options to installing a wide range of units suitable for providing power for different dwell times across multiple locations, to operating sophisticated distributed energy resources, all this as we move to ever more connected vehicles towards greater sharing of mobility until we reach a fully automated zero emission future. I'm married with three children and am a lifetime petrol head, but now an official electric vehicle nerd. I'm passionate about educating others about EVs and contributing to the transformation of the fleet sector. My personal vision is: clean air for all: enabled through seamless, multi modal, electrified transportation. Views expressed here are my own.
