A architect programmer who loves to design software as if people matter. In the IT industry since 1986 and in Financial Services IT since 1990. Worked on all aspects of regulatory programmes covering Mortgage Regulation (MMR, EU MCD etc.), PPI remediation and most recently Open Banking. I aim to try to ensure that the IT systems I work on actually improve the employee/customer experience rather than make it worse. I want my work to impact the financial services industry and wider society in a positive way where possible. I am actively involved in promoting ethical behaviour in the financial services industry. I want to see the next generation take more control over their IT and become 'programmers' rather than 'programmed'. I volunteer at local schools where I give 'financial capability' lessons and also teach regular classes in computer programming (without computers). I am an autistic techie who is brilliant at thinking logically and problem solving, but I can sometimes come across as rude and blunt because I am rubbish at social niceties.
