Cindy has been working in the field of employment initiatives for 30 years as a teacher, facilitator, researcher, curriculum developer and advocate for groups who face barriers. Since 2008, as the Executive Director of Alberta Workforce Essential Skills Society (AWES), she has been a strong advocate for essential skills development, helping to create change at an organizational level. Whether speaking about essential skills at conferences across Canada and the United States, working with client organizations to provide them a product that best meets their needs, or training newly-arrived immigrants, she is passionate about the positive effect the work at AWES has on people’s lives and the businesses they work for.
