With over 15 years of experience in IT, across multiple verticals and on different roles I have been fortunate enough to have developed a career so far with experience that spans wide and deep, giving me the ability to provide a level of service in all that relates to Technology, ranging from hands-on practical skills on various technologies to Specialist IT Consultancy for strategic business decisions. What difficulties do companies face regarding IT and what can I do to provide a solution to these challenges? My approach to this is finding the right balance between these 3 main pillars:‘Absolute IT Essentials’, ‘Research and Development’ and ‘The Bottom Line’. Absolute IT Essentials This is what is already commonly understood and accepted as necessary in IT. The obvious needs, such as - I need a PC and the internet to work OR I need a server to provide my solution. Research and Development A commonly underestimated topic of importance, many businesses do not consider spending time or money on R&D, simply because the ROI is not clearly visible. However, technology changes fast and those who use the latest advances in Technology to their advantage will always have the leading edge. The Bottom Line This is what business owners and financial controllers care most about. Keeping the cost on any IT expenditure as low as possible, while at the same time not sacrificing on quality to a level that hurts the business. Empowering any decision maker with all the possible options to make a well-informed decision is a fundamental attribute that comes with a strong background in IT. THE RIGHT BALANCE The right balance comes in taking into consideration all the pillars mentioned above related to the IT needs of any organization. Applying the right solution to satisfy the workforce of the business, contributing the right amount of time and resources to R&D and making sure that the IT spend is smart to give any business a competitive advantage that is hard to match.
