I am the Aerospace lead for FedDev Ontario's Industrial and Technological Benefits (ITB) unit. I have a special interest in furthering my understanding about how A.I. can be harnessed to better support Canada’s aerospace and defence researchers and manufacturers and am excited to continue to support and leverage Ontario’s innovation ecosystem (colleges, universities, and other research centers) to support my clients. Our team’s mandate is to leverage Canada’s ITB policy to connect Ontario-based companies & researchers with opportunities to work with contractors that have won major defence projects. We do this by promoting Ontario’s industrial capabilities and our strong innovation ecosystem at regional, national, and international conferences and trade shows. We also work closely with other Federal government departments, the Ontario government (MEDJCT), industry associations (I am an Observer to the Board of Directors for Defence Ontario & on the Ontario Aerospace Council’s Research + Technology Committee), post-secondary institutions, research centers, and companies of all sizes to keep on top of current opportunities and learn about upcoming ones. This cooperation also helps us reach a wide variety of organizations within Ontario’s aerospace & defence sectors to keep them informed about upcoming industry events and opportunities to make connections with prime contractors/tier 1 suppliers that are seeking Canadian partners for manufacturing and/or research. Prior to my current role, I accumulated over 11 years of experience managing and administering various contribution programs for the Government of Canada in the fields of Infrastructure, Applied Research, Innovation, Technology Development, and Commercialization.
