AWS Community Builder, TechWomen100 award winner, Women in Cloud Ambassador and Advisor and WomenTech Global Ambassador, with over 13 years of experience in senior roles. Throughout my career, I have specialised in developing the next generation of IT talent. Outside work, I’m an AWS Community Builder and a Woman in Tech and Diversity Advocate, with just under a decade spent nurturing and inspiring tech talent, working with charities, schools, universities, training organisations, AWS Academy, and networks to develop communities designed to support, motivate, and encourage more people into the technology sector. Mentored at She Builds Cloud Up Program and also with AWS Academy training providers, co-founded ‘AWSome Women and Allies in Tech’ groups. Goal oriented with what my peers describe as ‘contagious enthusiasm' for building, motivating, developing people, and creating a positive and fun learning culture whilst learning on the job and / or training towards cloud, BCS and other certifications. Together we can do IT and make IT so! (IAM sorry... I do also like an IT pun or two and well placed sci-fi reference). Yes, I am that person who does a talk at a conference and will drop in a Starwars quote on a slide, or bring in a Mario reference when talking about AWS Elastic Beanstalk! My favourite talk is called ‘Always pass on what you have learned: training and certifications’. Helping businesses to decipher their future by identifying, scoping, and creating valuable enhancements to business processes and service portfolio. Delivering organisational change, policy development, strategic planning, process refinements, as well as architecting technology and systems whilst keeping the customers at the heart of everything a business does. Currently holding TOGAF, ArchiMate, CISA, AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate, ITIL4, 2x BCS, Prince 2 Practitioner… and currently working towards developing my knowledge in cyber in 2023-24. Previously nominated for ‘Advocate of the Year’ for Women in IT Summit & Awards UK, and ‘Role Model of the Year’ and ‘IT Leader of the Year’ at the Women in Tech Excellence Awards 2022.
