I have many years of experience designing, managing, and implementing software projects. My college and early career had a strong focus in low-level embedded systems. This makes me uniquely qualified to troubleshoot and develop systems as low-level as embedded processors to high-level web interfaces and desktop and mobile clients. Currently, I am a principal software engineer developing cyber-security software. Previously, I helped develop visualization tools in Java to help our military. Then before that, I was a principal software engineer developing web interfaces, back-end servers, and desktop control software for network devices distributing HD video over Ethernet. I authored 2 patents from those projects. My responsibilities over the years have touched all the major platforms: Web portals, DevOps, Java, Python, Android, iOS, Windows, Mac, and Linux (servers and desktop). In my spare time, I like to stay current with my own independent research. Some become successes: My research in HTML5 became a book published by CRC Press. My open source project, Packet Sender, has exceeded 1 million downloads, and ranks #1 with Google when searching for the problems it solves. It has won international awards, and I have been honored to present at premier conferences, in North America and Europe, about Packet Sender and some of my other projects.
