I am a technology specialist with expertise in the design, development and deployment of enterprise-grade software applications, tools, and platforms. I also excel in leading teams that build these systems, and regularly share my knowledge by presenting at international conferences and writing for well-known technology websites: -- I am a serious techie who often works closely with senior management, acting as an intermediary between the business visionaries and the technical team -- I have led multiple successful digital/technical transformations. I have created 'C-level'​ strategies for change, designed highly-effective organisational structures, and defined associated business, platform and application goals -- I frequently perform multiple roles over the lifespan of a software delivery project, including architect, developer, QA specialist, operations and DBA. I enjoy jumping between a whiteboard, IDE and Linux shell -- I believe that a 'build, measure, learn'​ philosophy is essential for development and growth in both business and technology -- I currently specialise in enabling agility within organisations through the adoption of continuous integration/delivery and building platforms for safe and rapid release of software -- My current technical expertise focuses on 'DevOps’ tooling, cloud migrations, container technology, and microservice implementations I have a passion for learning, and love to share my knowledge by acting as a mentor within the software development community: -- I am a leader within the London Java Community (LJC), run meetups and hackdays, and act as a mentor -- I am an advocate of open source software and have contributed to many projects -- I am an editor at InfoQ, and an MVB at DZone -- I present at international conferences, including QCon, JavaOne, and KubeCon -- I am a Program Committee member for multiple conferences, including QCon, Devoxx, and O'Reilly
