As General Manager of Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the UK & Ireland, I lead a team of experts who are obsessed with growing success for our clients. I feel humbled to work every day on sharpening this within our cloud business, and to help deliver the best possible technology foundation for our regional customers. Every day is different at AWS with new challenges to solve for clients and new opportunities to explore together. My role is to mesh an understanding of our technical capabilities with the business outcomes they can deliver, and to work closely with senior leadership teams on identifying the key growth and efficiency areas that cloud can unlock. Being a people person with innate curiosity helps in this regard. I speak daily with start-ups, government departments, global enterprises and AWS partners to explore their priorities. With AWS growing at such a rapid pace, many of our conversations touch on the methodologies and frameworks we have adopted ourselves, which I am more than happy to share. And we’re having more and more discussions about sustainability, looking at how our path to powering our operations with 100% renewable energy by 2025 can support customers with their own emissions targets.
