People are the heart of any business, and it’s your team that knows your product inside and out. Why give outsiders the keys to your marketing budget when those who have lived and breathed your business not only understand but also contribute to that special something that keeps your customers loyal? It’s this type of thinking that has propelled the trend towards in-house and hybrid agencies. Determining how to move creative, advertising or marketing agencies in-house, isn't easy though. I should know. I've made it my area of expertise. With an MBA and significant experience at managing the change, I've applied the capacity analysis and strategy, mastering the frameworks that need to be utilised to successfully execute the transition to in-house. It all starts with the right people. I love a good challenge – which is probably why I often find myself in interesting scenarios such as triathlons and ocean swims – and I have a knack for seeing gaps and identifying and placing the right talent. No two businesses or agencies are alike, but with a far-reaching industry network, I can help build or curate bespoke teams that deliver. From there, I can either supervise or hand over to you. Either way, the goals are the same: improve results, enhance efficiency, and increase profitability. With a start-up mentality, I believe achieving one's vision takes more than a set-and-forget approach. I can’t stand micro-management, and instead look at the output of work, tweaking processes to optimise the outcomes. I believe the benefit of in-house and hybrid models is clear – same (or better) output for less money. By reducing chains of command, executives can increase employee retention and improve communication, both of which provide greater stability and security, and in turn, even more revenue. From the customer’s perspective, in-house creates experiences that inspire and excite, that play into what they 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 want. This isn’t by accident. With a keen interest in behavioural economics and consumer data, I love a good spin that capitalises on new channels, trends, and opportunities. I genuinely believe in the power of an in-house agency. That’s why I became a founding member of the In-House Agency Council, a group that defines benchmarks and uncovers the best way to serve clients. 📬 david@yes.agency
