Research focus in the area of biotechnology development through protein engineering. Specific applications include self-cleaving affinity tags based on engineered inteins, molecular biosensors for endocrine disrupting compounds, and specific applications in enzyme engineering, protein expression and protein purification. Recently co-founder and CSO of Protein Capture Science, a company commercializing a split-intein capture and purification platform for tagless recombinant proteins. Also teaching undergraduate Mass and Energy Balances course and an elective on Biopharmaceutical Development and Manufacturing.
