I'm a journalist working as Editor in Chief of Gizmodo, the news site about technology, science, the environment, and culture. Our channels include the climate vertical Earther and culture site io9. I am the author of two nonfiction books. My most recent, ''Defying Reality: The Inside Story of the Virtual Reality Revolution,'' is an exploration of the history, development and future of the emerging technology. My first book, ''Of Dice and Men: The Story of Dungeons & Dragons and The People Who Play It,'' was chosen as one of the best books of 2013 by Amazon.com and by Hudson Booksellers. I have a deep understanding of the technology business, and have appeared as an expert source on numerous television and radio programs, including ABC's Good Morning America, NPR’s All Things Considered, and other programs on CNN, BBC, Fox News and MSNBC. I've been quoted by a variety of news outlets including The New York Times, The Washington Post, Reuters, The Guardian, and China's People's Daily. I've been invited to speak to organizations including Google, Microsoft and Sony. I'm a primate and a skeptic. I have root access and I'm not afraid to use it. I can make stone tools and arrowheads.
