The energy transition is the single biggest opportunity of our lifetime. I passionately believe this transition will accelerate in the same way it has in the past decade – with nimbler, agile and entrepreneurial companies leading the way. Bureaucracy and complacency is the enemy of this transition. Progress can only be achieved if people dare to do things differently. Getting out of our individual comfort zones is what it takes for the world to manage this energy transition successfully. I am honoured and privileged to have been given the opportunity to lead a team of extraordinary people at VARO Energy. The professionalism, collaborative spirit and can-do attitude of the team is inspiring. As someone who grew up in India, studied in the US and has lived in the U.K. and around the world, I am enjoying living in Switzerland. The Alps remind me of my childhood in the Himalayas – in Darjeeling, which some of you might know for its famous tea. So, I have come a full circle in some ways! I will – with the help of my colleagues – continue to engage with all of you through this channel to discuss areas I am engaged in: the energy transition, digitalization, customer integration, operational excellence and inclusion.
