Bio

KEYNOTE SPEAKER | PSYCHOLOGIST | THOUGHT LEADER | PODCAST HOST | AUTHOR I help organizations and people to grow and thrive, using the principles of organizational psychology. Through leading, speaking, writing, coaching, and mentoring, I am driven to help people flourish in their work and life. Speaking with passion on topics that make a difference to organizations and people’s lives is a key focus. I make complex topics simple and practical, based on evidence from psychology. As an engaging and dynamic speaker, I have spoken globally about addressing the challenges of remote and hybrid work, maintaining work-life wellness and mental health, and leading through turbulent times. I am a visionary and thought leader on the evolution of work. In 2002, I predicted that the world of work would become flexible and mobile, so focused my doctoral research on remote team leadership. Ever since, I have written and spoken globally on the topic, including co-authoring Growing the Virtual Workplace (2008). Seven years before the pandemic hit, I co-founded the firm Work EvOHlution (now part of Humance), helping organizations thrive and succeed in a hybrid or remote workplace. Our psychometric assessment, the Distributed Work Profiler, was written about in Scientific American magazine as the world’s first personality profile of a remote worker. Alberta Venture magazine selected us as one of Alberta’s most innovative start-ups, and we were selected to present 3 times at South by Southwest, the innovation megaconference. Fascinated by how work intersects with life, I started my podcast, Where Work Meets Life™, so I could interview experts and broadcast insights on thriving workplaces, work-life wellness, and career fulfillment. I am honored to have 1000s of listeners around the world, inspiring them to flourish in their work and their lives. As an entrepreneur, I have launched several counselling psychology practices since 2009, including Calgary Career Counselling, Canada Career Counselling, and Synthesis Psychology. My team helps 1000s of people throughout Canada. Under my pen name Laura Lovett, I published two psychological thrillers, Losing Cadence and Finding Sophie, that are being represented by a Hollywood Producer. These books entertain and raise awareness on mental health and domestic violence. Outside of work, I serve on non-profit committees and boards focused on ending violence against girls and women, as well as growing confidence and leadership skills in children and youth. I have a lively household with my husband, three children & dog.
