You've heard of ''T-shaped'' versus ''I-shaped'' people? I spend a lot of time trying to be ▮-shaped. As a technologist, I'm comfortable both working in any role in a DevOps shop--from AWS to hands-on development, in half a dozen languages, from scalable cloud architecture to responsive single-page application development, and from the 10,000-foot business-objectives view to ground level. I combine that broad and deep base of knowledge with a desire to create multiplier effects--whether it's grounded in technological leverage or in hands-on training and review--that make us all better at our jobs. To me, software is a craft that should be done well for the sake of doing it well. I expect a lot out of myself and I expect a lot out of the teams I work with, and it's important to me to be constantly learning, developing, and growing as both a person and as a technologist.
