Bio

PhD in Advanced Computation, Energy and Plasmas (2018), MSc in Distributed Renewable Energies (2013) and BSc in Industrial Electronics (2012). From 2013 to 2018, I participated in four national research projects in Spain and Denmark, with both public and private funding and knowledge transfer with industry. These projects focused on modelling energy demand patterns in different economic sectors for the integration of renewable resources in the grid. This was also the main topic of my PhD Thesis. In 2015, I started to collaborate with Aalborg University (Denmark) in the integration of advanced metering infrastructures. At this institution, I was employed, since the completion of my PhD in 2018 until 2020, as a Postdoctoral researcher. During that time, I worked on IoT technologies and their integration into residential consumers for real-time data collection, processing and development of demand response (DR) algorithms and home energy management systems (HEMS). Since 2020, I work at KU Leuven (Belgium) in the Department of Electrical Engineering (ESAT/ELECTA) as Postdoctoral Research Associate. Within this institution, I am involved in two research projects: PrivateFlex where the aim is to use computation over encrypted data (COED) and machine learning techniques (ML) to capture and utilise consumer's flexibility while keeping private all sensitive data; and InduFlexControl where the goal is to investigate the potential of energy-intensive industry flexibility for the reduction of CO2 emissions.
