Strategic Project Manager : new technological & geographical markets addressing, Partnership and Synergies building 15 years of experience in water meter manufacturing, Eric FARNIER started working in the Smart Metering business in 2006 with the first Smart Meter project of SUEZ for Paris city. Since that time Eric has been involved in the development of SUEZ Smart Metering solution, defining together with GRDF the bidirectional solution that became the WIZE LPWAN solution. Chairman of the WIZE Alliance Technical Committee, Eric actively participated the CEN/TC294 working Groups on “meter communication” (wMbus) since 2009, creating the 169MHz mode N of the EN13757-4 standard that makes the WIZE protocol a fully open and interoperable LPWAN solution. Today’s involvement for Eric is within CEN/JTC13WG8 dealing with the European Radio Equipment Directive revision for Cybersecurity that will define the security solutions to be adopted in Europe for Smart metering in the context of the on-going Cyber Resilience Act of the European Commission.
