I am an award-winning data science executive with specializations in medical economics, quality, machine learning, and payer and provider operations. I have an extensive background in healthcare analytics and AI and have built a reputation as a leader in the successful development of analytic capabilities for payer and provider organizations. My success is driven by a combination of a deep understanding of data science, project management, HIT, and many years of experience in payer and provider operations. My background is diverse and includes the assessment of enterprise analytic capabilities, development of analytic strategy roadmaps, operating models, program implementation, data governance, and the optimization of resources that serve as the foundation for analytic centers of excellence. I provide organizations with the thought leadership, vision, and guidance to evolve their data science capabilities and enable them to transform raw data into actionable information for sustained strategic advantage. I leverage a unique mix of strategic, clinical, economic and analytical expertise, and consistently exceed performance goals by aligning the effort of strong teams with project objectives. Some of my most notable results in my recent career include: ⇨ Helped lead AI for the MITRE Corporation; primary focus is on applied AI for health systems. ⇨ Enabled an IBM-Watson top 20 Catholic healthcare system to fully leverage their data as an asset by transforming raw data into actionable insights for sustainable strategic advantage. ⇨ Built actionable models to identify patients at risk of mortality post-AMI. ⇨ Identified and provided actionable insights into out-of-network utilization. ⇨ Identified and resolved delays in Medicaid eligibility processing for an Accenture client. Prevented adverse financial impacts and resolved operational issues on a $173M platform and threatened their Medicaid program. ⇨ Reduced readmission rate from 19.5% – 17% in less than 18 months by developing a readmission risk model. ⇨ Developed the Stars Quality Bonus Payment platform for Accenture; enabled MAPD plans to develop actionable strategies that result in the highest ROI, in the shortest period of time and the highest probability of success. ⇨ Created an analytic center of excellence (ACoE) and enabled a state Medicaid payer to transition from fee-for-service to pay-for-value. ⇨ Leveraged a predictive model to identify members at increased risk of ER utilization and reduced ER visits 2.3% and ER admissions 1.8% while at Blue Cross and Blue Shield.
