I have a broad background in regenerative medicine, with specific trainings and expertise in the clinical application of Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSCs) for articular cartilage regeneration. My research includes the identification of a MSC subset with enhanced chondrogenic ability (F. Gullo et al., Rheumatology; 2013) and the development of a computational model that supports the in vitro expansion of Hematopoietic Stem Cells (HSCs) isolated from umbilical cord blood (F. Gullo et al., Bioinformatics; 2015). Overall, throughout my career, I have become very familiar with the cell therapy field which is my great passion. I have supervised PhD students, postdocs and scientific staff in biopharmas. I have written NIH grants, managed multiple scientific projects and trained/hired scientific staff.
