George, based in Houston, is a Partner and Co-Chair of Energy Transition at Holland & Knight LLP. He has over 20 years of experience in energy, particularly renewable energy, power and downstream oil and gas, and has overseen the development, financing and closing of billions of dollars of energy projects in the United States and internationally, as well as the purchase and sale of energy projects and businesses. He advises his clients on the development, project financing or sale of wind and solar, natural gas, petrochemical and energy storage projects, as well as on the development and financing of biofuel, green hydrogen and carbon capture projects and negotiation of power purchase, commodity sales and marketing, tolling and feedstock agreements. George, who speaks Spanish, spent his first two years of practice working in Mexico City and has worked on transactions throughout the United States and Latin America. He has been recognized by Euromoney’s Expert Guides 2018 as one of the world’s leading practitioners chosen by their peers in Energy, Who’s Who Legal 2022 as one of the world’s leading practitioners in Energy, The Legal 500 USA 2021 as a recommended attorney in renewable and alternative energy, and the IFLR1000 2019 as a notable practitioner in banking and finance, energy, project development and project finance.
