Bio

Even before starting her career, Georgina was identified as a future leader, when she was named one of the most promising female engineers in the UK. Prior to that, her talent was clear: she was awarded a Diamond Jubilee Scholarship by the IET (2014-2018) and several Cambridge University Scholarships (2015 & 2017). Since then, she graduated with distinction, worked at the pinnacle of engineering within the fast-paced world of Formula 1 at McLaren Racing, and then made a shift from Engineering into Software. Now at Tractable, Georgina has been the technical lead on numerous projects, including designing a client configuration service used across engineering. Another project of hers has had a significant contribution to a top five global insurer client investing directly in Tractable, which in turn helped Tractable secure new funding, valuing the company at $1bn and becoming a unicorn. Outside of her immediate role, she has had a substantial impact on Tractable in a number of areas, notably driving and implementing a company-wide client-data security initiative. Georgina’s commitment to diversity has been evident throughout her career. Recognising early on that we need to encourage more individuals into STEM subjects, she became a STEM Ambassador, giving regular talks and workshops across the country. Georgina continues to strive for inclusion and change, not just within Tractable, where she has helped to make interview processes more inclusive, but also wider in the industry by giving talks at global conferences, setting up projects with universities, and mentoring at Women Who Code. She has recently become an Advisor, Mentor and Coach at Academy, who are building a pathway into tech for high potential young people, targeting underrepresented groups. This is enabling Georgina to have an even bigger impact on increasing the diversity of talent entering the technology sector.
