I joined Kolide as a Senior Endpoint Specialist in 2021. This role requires having a diverse skillset that includes technical proficiency, writing SQL queries using osquery, excellent communication skills, and technical writing. Prior to Kolide, I was a Senior Security Specialist at 1Password, where I built the security training program from the ground up. I received my BS in Computer Science and MS in Applied Computing - Cybersecurity, both from Columbus State University. I have experience in creating education and training programs, policy writing, audit and compliance programs, programming, IT, networking, and system administration. My true passion is being an advocate for the everyday user and equipping them with the tools, knowledge, and experience they need to make great, security-minded decisions. I love to teach end users how to stay secure online, explain best practices, and expose security theatre. I believe in privacy as a bare minimum requirement and making strong security more tangible to non-experts. My professional values include providing security in a way that is more open and honest, achieving a balance between productivity and security, and taking responsibility (as the experts) for end user security.
