Born and raised in Raleigh, NC where I earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from North Carolina State University. On the way I co-founded a diagnostics medical device startup, medCount, focused on developing world Tuberculosis diagnostics. Went on to get my M.S. in Biomedical Engineering at Duke University. While there I got heavily involved with the startup community via my opportunity to work with Foundation Capital and source deal flow from North Carolina. After graduation I co-founded CertiRx, which is built to solve the global counterfeiting problem with a particular focus on counterfeiting of pharmaceuticals and other products that can have particular health risks. CertiRx has afforded me experience in a number of fields with touch points in pharmaceuticals, medical devices, consumer/luxury goods, supply chain, and education. Since then I have been consulting for technology companies with Ravioli Labs, an analytics and algorithms based software consultancy I founded and run and exploring product concepts for my next startup. I work with early stage companies and students as an advisor/mentor through various channels including DukeGEN and the NC State Engineering Entrepreneurs Program, and am the Co-Chair of the NC State Alumni Entrepreneurship Network. Formally trained in engineering disciplines, have spent a lot of time on startup business planning and startup financing. Broad interests in hardware, software, mobile, healthcare, education, clean tech. Primarily interested in startup and venture capital opportunities.
