Lifelong entrepreneur and engineer with a passion for solving big, complex problems. Founded MIT-spinout semi-conductor company (Silicon Spice) in 1995​ to enable carrier grade long-distance voice over IP. ​ Sold company to Broadcom for $1.2 billion. Helped build one of the first big data ​/ predictive analytics adtech companies for social media. Raised $12 million of venture funding from a variety of investors including NEA and Jim Clarke. Studied artificial intelligence, healthcare, and design at the MIT AI Lab and MIT Media Lab. Worked on Artificial Intelligence with Marvin Minsky and developed healthcare innovations with Media Lab Director Frank Moss. My PhD developed a new scientific model for discovery and validation of individualized therapies using crowdsourced self-experiments (N-of-1). At Vital Labs raised capital from True Ventures and other angel investors to apply novel sensor technology to chronic disease care. Demonstrated industry leading outcomes in chronic disease and hypertension management via collaborations with Cincinnati Children's Hospital and UCSF Medical Center. At Amazon Web Services (AWS) co-invented and helped build Honeycode, a new no-code productivity computing platform. Driving technology modernization initiatives at U.S. Bank including leadership for enterprise engineering and platform foundations. Own developer enablement, tooling, and multiple core services. Provide oversight for all major technology investments to ensure alignment with Digital, Data, Cloud, and AI strategies. Work on healthcare technology and services has been featured in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, Wired, MIT Technology Review, Harvard Business Review, NPR, Scientific American, and Proto Magazine. Presented on health and healthcare topics at Mayo Transform, Stanford’s MedicineX, Health Datapalooza, Academy Health, Health 2.0, HxRefactored, O’Reilly’s HealthFoo, and the Quantified Self. More recently spoke on transformation at 2020 DevOps Enterprise Summit.
