Portfolio: http://ihorszlachtycz.blogspot.ca/2018/05/programming-portfolio.html I am a passionate and very curious programmer who loves to understand how every piece of the pipeline functions. I started programming to build mods for Warcraft 3 where I began to question how my code was actually understood by the computer. Since then, I have designed my own MIPS inspired CPU, built a compiler that compiled a subset of C to x86 assembly, and have explored how different components of an operating system function. I watched and programmed with Casey Muratori for over 260 episodes of Handmade Hero, a tutorial on how to program a game from scratch without any libraries. Doing so has given me a lot of insight on how to build many components of video games but also how to better problem solve while coding. After watching this series, I took everything I learned and began developing my own video game which I am currently working on. The field of Computer Science and Math both fascinate me and I try to keep up with both fields research. I was especially captivated by AI and Deep Learning and have taken the time to implement different neural networks like Convolutional Networks, Auto Encoders, and Feed Forward Networks. I regularly check for new research in this field, and I take the time to read and understand what each paper brings to the field.
