I am a strategic and delivery-driven Transformation CIO who combines technology and business skills. A strong background in running large IT organisations (c. 1000 staff and budgets of £100M+) within global companies operating at Board level (exec and non-exec). My career spans various sectors including Insurance, Banking (Retail & Investment), e-Commerce/Digital and entrepreneurial Start-ups. UK Regulator Approved (FCA/PRA/JFSC). The last 12 years with 3 leading global insurance companies; AXA, Allianz and Legal & General. My earlier career has included CTO/VP Product Dev (Fluency Voice Technology & Smarte) and I’ve held Senior IT management roles across Retail Banking (Capital One & Lloyds TSB) and Investment Banking (JP Morgan). I am a Non-Executive Board Director of DVSA (Department for Transport) and I was a NED at MIB (Motor Insurers Bureau) and Premierline. Passionate about leveraging IT as a force for good for the benefit of customers and to maximise business value. This is accomplished through user-centred services, cost optimisation, effective leadership, digital and data transformation and staying ahead by introducing disruptive innovation. I am very proud of having championed and successfully implemented strategic Digital, Data & Agile Transformations with new ways of working (Agile/DevSecOps/Cloud). I have a strong track record of delivering complex transformational change (£100m+) across IT and the wider business. Equally, I focus on the delivery of stable and efficient IT services, whilst driving better productivity through simplification, decommissioning and automation. One of my priorities is enhancing cyber security maturity and the build of advanced capabilities. An effective communicator, influencing with integrity, simplifying complexity and offering solutions.
