Jaeson Ma is a serial entrepreneur, artist & media executive. He is the founder and partner of multiple companies focused on accessing the Asian market through entertainment, media, and technology. Mr. Ma is considered one of the leading financiers to companies, institutions, and individuals investing in Asian media and Hollywood entertainment. In 2019 Mr. Ma as a principle partner in Proxima Media was also instrumental in putting together the merger and acquisition of social music video app Triller & MXX (a leading music AI technology) that has become one of the fastest growing social media platforms globally discovering & breaking new music artists. In 2017, Mr. Ma co-founded Stampede Ventures with former Warner Brothers President of Worldwide production Greg Silverman. In 2015, Mr. Ma co-founded 88rising, a multi-platform digital media company that is the leading global destination for Asia-related digital content catering to the Asian millennial market. Most notably, as then Chairman & co founder he negotiated 88rising series seed investments and the series A strategic investment with leading global advertising agency WPP. Prior to forming 88rising and Stampede Ventures, Mr. Ma has been the founder of East West Ventures (EWV). An HTC Portfolio Company, EWV manages top tier clients, production of premium content, & financial advisory for A-list clientele across all areas of investments. During his career, he has raised capital and/or advised on transactions totaling over $1 billion in value, including numerous Asian film, television, and music transactions. In 2018, Mr. Ma initiated & advised on the successful acquisition of Dark Horse Comics between Cenic Media & Dark Horse Comics founder. Currently, Mr. Ma is a Senior Advisor to KKFarm Fund, a joint investment fund between Tencent Music Entertainment (TME) and KKBox - two of the most dominant music streaming platforms in greater China. As well, Jaeson is a senior advisor to private equity funds advised by Courage Capital Management, LLC that invest in music rights. Mr. Ma is also a venture partner with GoodWater Capital, a consumer tech focused venture capital firm in Silicon Valley. His investments include Musical.ly, Grab, Brain, Slock.it, Triller, Oursong, Kind Heaven, XiaoPeng, Coinbase, Nanotech Energy, OpenNest, CAA Caravan & Maum.
