I have over 30 years experience in the energy industry. My initial speciality was in Russian oil and gas, but I have subsequently broadened my expertise to cover the global gas sector and now the key challenges facing the global energy system as a result of the need for decarbonisation to meet climate goals. I have written numerous books, book chapters, academic papers and other research on the energy sector, and currently am Director of Energy Transition Research at the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies. In addition, I am a visiting professor at Masaryk University in the Czech Republic, and at the College of Europe, Natolin, Warsaw as well as being a guest lecturer at a number of other universities.
