A tech journalist with more than 20 years experience, I've broken stories about some of the biggest tech firms in the world, made documentaries for TV and radio and covered breaking news in the tech sector. In my last year at the BBC, I edited the Technology online page. I've presented World Service radio programmes including Tech Tent as well as moderating panels, most recently at Latitude 59 in Tallinn and GlobSec in Bratislava. And I've attending some of the biggest conferences in the world, including TED (which I have attended 12 times, including TED Global and TED Women) and Web Summit. I have written on every subject from broadband, to tech regulation, online harms, artificial intelligence, tech in Africa, robotics (including the UK's first ever interview with a sex robot), health, data and online privacy. One of my favourite specialisms is smart cities and I've visited operation centres, tech hubs and green buildings around the world, making documentaries for World TV. Now I am freelance writing on topics such as digital twins and the metaverse.
