The next 50 years may present the greatest leadership challenges humanity has ever faced. With rising threats of climate change, political instability, widening income inequality, and global migration the need for great leadership has never been greater. But model for leadership for the last 200 years has been centered around Being Bold, Standing Apart, and Driving Profit. But this is all changing! Every employee and every customer now has a voice and they want to be part of a community that enhances their life beyond a paycheck or a product. They want to live for more than a promotion. Because of this, the leader of the future will need to embrace a commitment to servant leadership, community empowerment, emotional intelligence, and social sustainability. Right now, nonprofit, fund developers & corporate leaders everywhere are spending time & resources in an effort to get ''smaller'' while also expanding their external influence. What does this mean? It means shaping dual facing cultures that create safety, empowerment, and connection. The organizations that thrive in the future will be those that create an internal mindset of Belonging and an external message of Collaborative Purpose. This focus on the emotional needs of our stake holders & customers will be the defining principle in the future of organizational development. For the last 20 years I have been leading diverse groups of people and community facing organizations through difficult social challenges by creating systems that serve and empower while also provided social lift through entrepreneurship and innovation. I've taken all of my on the ground organizational experience and created a model that can offer a transformative model for leaders called, The Village Mindset Model. My model contains 5 Key Leadership Values that can help executive leaders, fund developers, and HR set a day-to-day model that creates A Village of Belonging. I truly believe we can live in a win/win world where there is a solution to every problem we face and the resources to achieve our missional goals. In fact, I believe that our solutions already exist in the assets of our people and our communities - I just help create systems that empower those voices.
