Jason Choi is a full-time angel investor focused on crypto. As the co-founder of Tangent, Jason co-invests with a collective of experienced founders in Web 3 striving to be the most value-add investors on any cap table. Previously, Jason co-helmed one of Asia's first institutional crypto funds as the first hire and General Partner at Spartan Capital. At Spartan, Jason co-led investments in >80 companies and was instrumental to scaling the fund from $9M to ~$500M and tripling its team size in 4 years. As the Head of Research for Spartan's liquid strategies, Jason also led his team to delivering the #1 returns for an emerging APAC fund in 2020 and #1 returns for a APAC hedge fund in 2021 (source: Preqin, based on 1,600 funds). Since 2018, Jason has hosted one of the most followed podcasts in the industry, Blockcrunch, with up to 40M monthly engagement on socials, which has since spun up a boutique research and advisory arm.
