Bio

As a Multi-Award winning DevOps Engineer and Technical blogger, I have been recognized for my contributions to the tech industry in the UK. In addition to my technical expertise, I am also a Neurodiversity & Inclusion Advocate & Keynote Speaker. I began my journey in tech in 2017, when I learned my first line of code using HTML. From there, I earned a place in the 'Code First: Girls' Nanodegree' Program, where I gained the skills and knowledge of a Software Engineer. In 2019, I entered the tech industry & quickly gained recognition for my work. I am the Founder of 'The Opal Blog', a platform that touches on neurodiversity, inclusion & tech, with the goal of educating readers about these topics. In 2020, I was the winner of the 'Tech Women 100 Awards' and the 'Rising Star Award' at the Black Tech Achievements Awards. I have also been named as one of the Most Influential Women in Tech by ComputerWeekly.com in 2019, 2020, and 2021, and have been nominated for the Rising Technologist Award for Booking.com's Technologist Playmaker Awards 2020. My work has been featured in outlets such as Refinery29, The Guardian, BBC News, and Silicon Republic. I am also the co-author of 'The Voices In The Shadow', a book that showcases the stories of 51 black women in tech and is being distributed in schools across the UK and Ireland as well as being sold globally. As a keynote speaker, I have had the opportunity to work with companies such as Bloomberg, Women Techmakers (Google), HackaJob, Coding Black Females, Code First: Girls, WeAreTechWomen, and so much more. In addition to my professional pursuits, I also sit on the Co-Production Board of the charity Neurodiversity In Business.
