I was lured to the AXA role by its broad scope, with a single leadership overseeing Chief Operations Officer, Chief Digital & Transformation Officer, Chief Information Officer, Chief Data & Innovation Officer, Marketing Director and Medical Director. After having done the role for 24 months, I could see the great potential of this role to truly transform a company, through Simplification as a precursor along with Digitalization. Anchoring all simplification initiatives with Customer-First objectives resulting in - simple products, easy policy servicing, fast claims processing, smooth payments, etc. - will only lead to more renewals, more referrals, and a more sustainable business. It was a great journey and I truly enjoyed it! My previous experiences include: a) Implement IT Strategy to drive digital transformation of insurance business - IT Architecture roadmap to modernise legacy systems; Innovation Accelerator to leverage startup solutions; DevOps Competency Center to build new skillsets that enable fast speed IT development & operations; Design Center that creates new business models & products using Design Thinking & Agile Development; Open API and Micro-services platform to expand business partnership & distribution channels; and transformation of IT resources & competency to support strategic projects using Analytics, AI, Robotics, RPA. b) Establish key pillars to support new IT Architecture - Cyber Defense Strategy to advance company's cyber maturity to top-tier amongst FSI; Hybrid Cloud Strategy to implement new tech capabilities that support real-time & straight-through digital business; and Governance Framework that enables rapid POC experiments and pilots before rolling into enterprise production environment. c) Manage a large team of more than 400 IT resources to (i) support a top-tier global bank across 17 APAC countries in transaction banking applications and services; and (ii) implement a nation-wide FAST Payment System integrating all commercial banks and enabling PayNow.
