Bio

A T-shaped tech executive with over 30 years of experience, I have led multi-hundred-person departments for the #1-ranked companies in eight different industries, built startup teams from scratch, and helped decacorns go public. In these roles I have owned functions that span the entire product and technology life cycle from Product, Engineering, and Infrastructure & Operations to Evangelism and Professional Services. In the last decade, I have lived in three countries, led teams based in fifteen, and managed people from over 70 countries. My passion is harnessing technology to enable people to discover new items of interest, do things they never could, and solve “unsolvable” problems. My specialty is empowering team to deliver more value, more quickly, and with higher quality than they thought possible. Earlier in my career, I achieved this by creating extensible platforms and infrastructure. Over the past decade, I have had the privilege to help drive the developer experience (DevEx, DX) domain across the tech industry. I created the developer experience tribe at Spotify (where we created and open-sourced Backstage, then donated it to the CNCF) and at Peloton. Now, I am now part of the leadership team creating the Software Builder Experience mission at Amazon and AWS.
