Jimmie is a cultural gardener, creative leader, and teacher who has worked for over 20 years to connect brands and consumers through purpose-driven creative work. Jimmie is currently VP, Head of Creative Shop North America at Meta. He leads a group of 100 Creative Strategists that sit at the intersection of partners (agencies, brands, creators), the suite of products (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger, Horizon) and the billions of people using Meta's products every day. Creative Shop's mission is to explore and democratize the power of Meta's platform to help companies of all sizes flourish. Helping partners evolve their advertising effectiveness on multiple canvases and exploring the many emerging technologies. He believes that in Meta, his team has the daily ability and responsibility to be one click away from making the world a better place. Before joining Meta, Jimmie was the Chief Creative Officer in N.Y. and U.S. Head of Creative of Edelman, where he spent ten years, he was a driving force behind the creative shift of the world's leading independent agency. He led a team of over 120 creatives ranging from art directors and designers to copywriters, producers and creative technologists to bring Edelman's ''Earned Creative'' ethos to life. He was also responsible for the growth of the creative content offering, building an experiential design group and best-in-class video production team. In his tenure he was instrumental in helping Edelman become a creative powerhouse, ultimately becoming #4 in the Creativity A-list of Ad Age and in 2021 the agency of the year in both the Shorty's and the Cannes Lions festival of creativity. At Green Team, where he was Partner and Chief Creative-Strategy Officer for over 12 years, he helped co-create an agency culture of creativity and purpose focused on vital social and environmental issues. He led creative work with non-profits (National Geographic, the U.N., Environmental Defense Fund), sustainable tourism (Scotland, Dominica Island, Ecuador), and progressive brands (Pret a Manger, Stonyfield Farm, Jaguar). He helped his clients succeed in a world that demands authenticity and responsibility. Jimmie has judged all the major award shows and, along with his team, has won many of them throughout his career, including Cannes, Clios, D&AD Impact, The One Show, the International Design Award from I.D. Magazine, and the United Nations Integrity in Advertising Award. Originally from Venezuela, Jimmie now lives in Brooklyn, NY (which he thinks sounds cool) with his wife and two children (who really are cool).
