Jimmy has been participating and shooting cutting edge expeditions for over a decade. He has been a sponsored climber and skier on the elite North Face Athlete Team for 11 years. In that time, Chin has worked with some of the best adventurers, climbers and skiers in the world on their most challenging expeditions. He is one of the most sought after expedition photographers and filmmakers working today. Jimmy’s diverse expedition career includes notable first ascents in the Himalayas and ski descents in the most remote corners of the planet, all the while, shouldering camera equipment to document the epic stories. He is one of the few people that has climbed Mount Everest and skied down from the summit. Jimmy photographs for a wide variety of commercial and editorial clients and has received numerous awards for his work. As a director and cinematographer, he has worked on feature, documentary, tv and commercial projects for Working Title, RSA Films, The North Face and National Geographic to name a few. Most recently, he co-founded Camp 4 Collective, an adventure sports based production company. He sold his share in the company in 2014 and is now directing and filming independently. Jimmy has been profiled in numerous national publications including National Geographic Magazine, Outside Magazine, People Magazine, Men’s Journal and others. He received the Rowell Art of Adventure award for his philanthropic work, and his excellence and breadth in adventure photography. National Geographic Society has awarded Jimmy two expedition grants and named him one of their inaugural Emerging Explorers.
