My name is Jody Grunden, and I am an accounting visionary with over 20 years of experience. After graduating with my bachelor’s degree in accounting from Indiana University, my career in accounting began in the best way possible: Passing the CPA exam on the first try. I broadened my skills at Crowe Chizek and Company and Geo S. Olive (now FORVIS). During that time, I also obtained my Series 6 and Series 63 licenses in investing. Not to toot my own horn, but I have helped pioneer innovative changes within the industry, including the introduction of the first Virtual CFO services. I also launched a subscription-based billing method and a remote financial service, which are both unusual for the accounting industry. I have authored two books, Digital Dollars and Cents and Building the Virtual CFO Firm in the Cloud. Together with my partner Adam Hale, I cofounded Summit CPA Group (Summit) in 2002, which merged with Anders CPAs + Advisors (Anders) in 2022. Summit, now a division of Anders, was the first fully distributed firm and the leading provider of Virtual CFO services in North America. With this merger, Summit has brought to Anders several benefits which will help continue our vision of changing the way people think about accounting, including strengthening the now “hybrid” work environment, building out the advisory side of Anders with a Virtual CFO service model, and implementing weekly subscription billing, rather than hourly billing. I specialize in Virtual CFO Services, Creative Agencies, and Remote Team Management. I am also part of many professional organizations and have won several awards. When I’m not changing the way people think about accounting, I am participating in an array of sports and travel with my children, Tyler and Lexi, and my wife, April.
