Internationally recognised security leader with an extensive record of transforming security capabilities for both mature organisations, and startups as their first CISO. Over two decades of experience in technology and advisory roles for organisations including telecoms, logistics, oil and gas, electricity, fintech, health, retail and consulting. I design and implement modern, agile, threat driven information security and risk management strategies that transform organisational maturity and capability; combining deep strategy, policy and stakeholder management skills with extensive technical, operational and programme delivery expertise to drive and embed change into large, complex organisations. Deep experience with ISO27001/2, NIST, CIS, SOC2, PCI DSS, GDPR, CPPA, vendor and contract Management, ITIL, IT Strategy, budget management, strategic planning, programme management, security controls, threat and vulnerability management and building security into DevOps for Agile organisations. I am best known in Security Operations where I have been involved in this space since 2003, involved with the design and release of several log collection, SOAR and forensic technologies. I have built MSSP and SOC capabilities for telecoms, financial and logistics organisations in Germany, the Netherlands, Australia, Canada, and the United States. My work in critical infrastructure is such that I am still sought out by govt agencies to assist with cyber issues against critical infrastructure. I am often asked to speak at multiple engagements focusing on cyber security and threat intelligence in the UK and USA.
