John is PwC’s Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Leader for the Americas within the Financial Services Advisory practice, where he is responsible for helping compliance and AML functions transform from relying on reactive and inefficient programs - in a constant state of remediation - to relying on proactive, strategic and cost effective programs. This is accomplished by bringing together deeply specialized disciplines in the areas of strategy consulting, regulatory compliance, advanced analytics, technology enabled integration services and operational process optimization. With over 25 years of experience, John’s responsibilities include helping organizations transform, improve and reduce costs within their compliance and AML programs. These projects are generally large and complex and often are implemented under regulatory scrutiny. He and his team have been selected to serve as strategic advisers for both Boards and executive management teams as they respond to regulatory inquiries and put remediation plans in place to address regulatory actions. John has earned MBAs at Columbia Business School, with dual emphasis in Corporate Strategy and Finance, and at Fordham Business School in Accounting. A Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), John has a Bachelor of Science in American Politics and Computer Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point. John also served seven years in the U.S. military as an Army captain and intelligence officer, primarily during the Balkan wars, building intelligence and communication systems.
