Currently, I am a researcher and strategist in economic and community development. I lean on my ethnographic and data analysis skills to identify gaps that may be causing economic decline in a community, craft solutions that are human-centered and (hopefully) empower the regions I consult with to build more resilient, prosperous communities. I believe that data should be thick and complex, incorporating the human experience and emotion as an important data point to explain quantitative findings. My background gives me tools to not only be flexible, adaptive, and iterative as new information is found, but to weave a narrative together that is easily understood for any audience. If you're interested in the work I've done thus far, please look on my website www.jrcooley.com under my portfolio.
