I design and deliver impactful innovation programmes and prizes. I am particularly interested in the application of data science and machine learning in the travel industry and cultural sector. Notable achievements: - Established the historic Longitude Prize - launched by David Cameron in 2013 and the first ever incentive prize shaped by a public vote - Drove the production of the research content that was the focus of BBC Horizon’s 50th Anniversary Episode covering the Longitude Prize - Worked alongside and serviced the prestigious Longitude Committee - Part of the team that achieved The Times and The Guardian front page articles for the Longitude Prize - Led the design of the winning criteria for the £10m Longitude Prize and $10m George Barley Water Prize - Led the design of 9 multi-million-euro incentive prizes in assistive technology, robotics, blockchain & smart home technologies - Conceived, designed and delivered the Edinburgh Tourism Innovation Challenge Hackathon - Launched a challenge-based learning competition for over 100 data scientists - Secured £5m additional funding to increase the size of The Data Lab MSc programme by 400% - Through The Data Lab MSc placement programme, helped over 100 data students gain employment in Scotland - Invited to speak to the Scottish Parliament Fair Work Committee about the adoption of data science - Invited speaker at international conferences inc.
