Dr. Justin Barad, a pediatric orthopedic surgeon and former gamer, is the CEO and co-founder of the award-winning virtual reality startup, Osso VR.

While interning at Activision to become a game developer, a family event flung Justin into the world of healthcare and changed the course of his academic career. During his residency at UCLA, he was stunned by the lack of surgical innovation—which left many surgeons unprepared and put patients at risk.

Justin founded Osso VR in 2016 to give surgeons safer, easier, and more effective tools to improve outcomes and performance. Today, Osso VR's clinically validated platform is used by the world’s top medical device companies and academic medical centers to train thousands of surgeons across the globe.

Justin received his Bioengineering degree from UC Berkeley, and an MD from UCLA, where he graduated first in his class. He completed his residency at UCLA and his fellowship in pediatric orthopedics at Harvard and Boston Children’s Hospital.
