Leading the nation's largest state-owned electric utility, whose mission is to guide the transition to a carbon-free, economically vibrant New York through customer partnerships, innovative energy solutions, and the responsible supply of affordable, clean and reliable electricity. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Under Acting President and CEO Justin Driscoll’s leadership, the New York Power Authority (NYPA) is extending its extraordinary 92-year public power legacy, as it generates up to 25 percent of the state’s electricity—80 percent of which is clean, affordable, reliable hydropower—operating one-third of New York’s bulk electric transmission grid, and serving customers with power and innovative energy services. Additionally, Driscoll has mobilized NYPA to help New York State achieve the goals of its Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act by leveraging NYPA’s unique strengths to address gaps and solve challenges to achieving full decarbonization. Driscoll serves on several boards, including the Alliance to Save Energy, the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority, the GridWise Alliance, EPRI, New York City’s Urban Green Council, and the World Resources Institute’s Global Energy Advisory Board. Driscoll is a graduate of American University in Washington, D.C. with a bachelor’s degree from the School of Public Affairs. He received his law degree from the New York Law School and attended the New York University School of Law L.L.M Program in trade regulation.
