Kamaal Thomas is Vice President of Technology Risk at Goldman Sachs. His work focuses on developing and driving Goldman Sachs Asset & Wealth Management’s (AWM) cybersecurity strategy and strategic transformation initiatives. He has extensive experience working directly with the firm’s Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to inform Goldman Sachs’ Board of Directors, C-suite, regulators, and clients of the firm’s cyber risk levels and risk reduction efforts. He currently oversees the AWM Division’s end of life (EOL) program ensuring the demise of legacy software and hardware products across a suite of 1000+ applications. Prior to joining Goldman Sachs, Kamaal worked for the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, where he supported efforts to reduce systemic cybersecurity risk to the financial system through conducting innovative policy research and strengthening international and national public-private partnerships. Kamaal has received fellowships and scholarships with the U.S. Democratic National Committee, Princeton University, Tsinghua University in Beijing, and the U.S. Department of State. He is a graduate of the University of California, Davis, and is a 2012 recipient of the Bill and Melinda Gates Millennium Scholarship.
