What do I believe? Creativity and innovation are key to truly impactful marketing. Resources and budgets will always be finite, so be smart at maximising what you’re working with to deliver optimal ROI. Equally important is assessing and calculating the risks associated with executing an innovative idea. Your marketing campaigns are competing in a highly competitive space, so ensuring they stand out and feel authentic is essential. Maintaining authenticity is essential. As a woman and a Filipina working in what’s often a male-dominated industry and environment, I always try and stay true to myself. I’m a big believer in giving others who are in a similar situation support, advice and a platform to achieve. As a leader, I believe in taking the time to teach and mentor people – hopefully, together, we can make a positive impact on the world. Creating a fun environment gives my team a safe, supportive space to grow, ideate and fail if they need to, but we’re all pulling in the same direction. Both the financial and marketing industries are laden with jargon. Try not to use it too much. Focus on communicating as a person. When I talk to internal executive audiences, I focus on sales and revenue contribution; when I speak with potential customers, it’s how our solutions can help solve their problems.
