Bio

I am an academic scientist passionate about improving the addiction system of care through innovative use of health information technology. I use implementation science methods to develop and translate effective real-world solutions for improving prevention and treatment efforts for addiction. I have expertise in translating evidence-based interventions into clinical settings. I completed the National Science Foundation Regional iCorps and the Texas Health Catalyst training programs which provided training in entrepreneurship and technology commercialization. In 2020, I was selected into a competitive national cohort of women scientists to complete the Association of Women in Science's STEM2Market training program. I have over 15 years of experience working on projects developing and adapting behavioral interventions and health technologies focused on substance misuse among vulnerable populations. I've received over $8 million in extramural funding by the National Institutes of Health, Health Resources and Services Administration, and Texas Health and Human Services (see Projects section below for descriptions).
