I'm a health and science reporter based in Washington DC. I’m currently covering the FDA for POLITICO, where I cover new drug approvals, tobacco products, and the politics around these decisions. Previously, I covered health and medicine for Quartz, where I was a leading voice in our Covid-19 coverage, aging and neuroscience, and the business of fertility, among other topics. Before Quartz, my work has appeared in Nature Medicine, Nature Methods, The Atlantic, Motherboard, Scholastic, and OnEarth magazine. I was a 2019 Journalist in Aging Fellow, supported by the Gerontological Society of America, and I've completed two fellowships with the Mayo Foundation. My work has been nominated for SABEW, AHCJ, and Kavli Foundation awards. I'm skilled in SEO and social media optimization for stories, Parse.ly and Google analytics, Wordpress, and Datawrapper. I also keep a newsletter called Scrap Facts, a newsletter that reaches hundreds of subscribers. Mid-month, I use the same platform to write Age, a series covering research on the diverse lifespans across biology. Outside of my work, I'm a co-leader of the free fitness group November Project DC.
