I have always loved puzzles and problem solving. 3D puzzles, logic problems, and strategy games are where you could find me as a child. It led me to start my career in the medical research / microbiology field. The more I worked in my field, the more I realized how much technology played a role in what we did every day, and I fell in love with tinkering with the tech and trying to improve how we got our work done. I then transitioned to the Technology Industry in 2007, and spent time as a Business Analyst, Software Developer, and Project Manager over the years. I had found my passion. I love that Technology is constantly changing and you can’t ever get complacent. I was solving a new challenge every day. And it energized me to go back to school and get my Master’s in Information Technology Management while working full-time. My knowledge and love for Technology continued to grow and the complexity of the assignments that I took on escalated to be large programs, new product development, process improvements, and eventually led to managing teams, portfolios, and then departments. I am constantly challenging myself and pushing myself to learn, expand, and have a growth mindset in all I do. I do the same for my employees, focusing on personal and professional development and empowerment to build strong, resilient teams. I focus on being a trustworthy, authentic, bold, and visionary for my teams, while giving them the autonomy they need to innovate and determine how to build the right solutions. I have also begun to focus on raising those up around me through mentoring and volunteer opportunities with Women in Technology. I have spoken both internally and externally about Imposter Syndrome, Leadership Styles, and continue to empower, champion, and mentor up and coming leaders.
