McLaughlin Global Associates LLC is a diverse company focused on board service and consulting. I also serve as the Vice Chairman for the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) Board of Governors. CAP’s 56,000 citizen Airmen power a premier public service organization supporting America's communities with emergency response, diverse aviation and ground services, youth development and promotion of air, space and cyber power. I am a board member for Feed-The-Need Missions, a ministry whose mission is simply to feed people and provide disaster relief. In my consulting practice, I advise corporate executives and board members on a variety of strategic issues in space and cyberspace issues. My specific focus is in three areas. First, helping companies connect strategic corporate risk to the many areas within their company that drive overall corporate cyber risk. Helping companies understand the strategic shifts occurring in the commercial and government marketplace, especially in how we can better leverage advanced commercial technology in both commercial and government markets. Last, providing advice to government and commercial clients regarding the risks in the cyber supply chain. In my last active duty military assignment, I was the U.S. Cyber Command Deputy Commander from 2014-2017. I led over 12,000 military personnel in the world’s largest cyberspace operations organization responsible for global operations defending the Department of Defense network, providing cyber options for global commanders, and defending U.S. critical infrastructure from cyber attacks. I put in place cyber forces, enterprise resources, capabilities, policy, partnerships, and authorities to ensure mission success and oversaw the creation, training, and certification of all 133 Department of Defense cyber teams. I had a wide variety of space assignments, including serving as a staff member on the Rumsfeld Space Commission. As a result, I testify and speak regularly on the issues surrounding a new separate space service such as the Space Force.
