Bio

I’m a Boston-based musician, audio engineer, educator + arts advocate. Currently, I’m a Product Specialist at Descript, working with and training pro audio teams around the world. Prior to starting at Descript, I was the Studio + Operations a Manager at the PRX Podcast Garage. I oversaw all the elements of the studio recording, audio production, and technology needs. I headed-up all of our audio-focused partnerships that include full-scope audio production from start to finish. I also taught workshops on Pro Tools, studio recording, and mixing/mastering with plugins. Throughout this time, I have also worked as a freelance audio engineer producing, editing + mixing various formats of podcasts and radio pieces for organizations, companies and independent creators; audio recording and treatment including narration, live events, environmental sound, roundtable discussions, interviews, etc. In addition to my time at the Podcast Garage and as a freelance engineer/producer, I am the adjunct Jazz Coach at Newton North High School working with young jazz musicians. I've spent much of my career writing, performing and recording in a number of groups and ensembles. I have been lucky enough to share the stage and studio with a number of incredible artists including The Yellowjackets, Dr. John, The Ellis Marsalis Trio, Jason Marsalis, Maynard Ferguson, Marcus Roberts, Jane Monheit, The Brubeck Brothers Quartet, Leroy Jones, Bob Sheppard, Sean Jones, Doreen Ketchins, Michael Davis, Janelle Reichman amongst many others. Here in Boston, I have shared the stage or studio with acts such as Hawthorn, Gentle Temper, Kaiti Jones, Coral Moons, Tory Silver and many more. After graduating from Rome Free Academy in 2007, I began to pursue my degree in Music Industry with a concentration in Jazz Studies and Audio Production at the College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY. I spent four amazing years at St. Rose, most notably in my years working as a studio and live engineer. I also served as president of the Music Entertainment Industry Student Association, putting on dozens of performances and events to support and contribute to the local music scene. In the fall of 2011, I moved to Boston, MA and soon after began at the West Suburban YMCA to create, build and implement a music + media program. I turned a program of fewer than five participants into a full calendar year-long, multifaceted creative arts program including classes, workshops and experiences in Studio Recording, Live Performance, Post Production, Songwriting, Video & Film Production, and much more.
